Sweet and bitter magic series5/13/2023 He's got good chemistry with both CSB and Krystal, too. His scenes with Krystal (Bo Young) were fun and light in contrast to the serious and heavy scenes with CSB (Da Eun), yet he wonderfully delivered. Such a charming young man! I've watched him portray different roles in dramas, he never disappoints, always a pleasure to watch. Jang Ki Young (Jang Hyuk), nailed his role as the struggling young professional climbing up the ladder. A real beauty who's a class act of her own. The camera immaculately captures her sweetness. She's one of the younger stars whose acting prowess is commendable. Watch something else.Ĭhae Soo Bin impressively portrayed her role as the lively and cheerful turned lonely and weary nurse, Da Eun. If you are expecting a feel-good happily-ever-after romantic comedy sort of thing, this, without a doubt, will disappoint you. This is rated 13+ by Netflix, but it tackles a more mature topic apt for, perhaps, a more open-minded perspective on dating and relationships. It has a good balance of seriousness and humor as the characters matter-of-factly tell their story, a characterization of why relationships in this fast-paced world are short-lived. This is a well-executed film, with three equally talented stars at the forefront. Thank goodness it's on Netflix! We can rewatch the scenes until we fully understand what's going on (lol). That's where the twist is, and you need to watch it again to get a complete grasp of the story. A realistic portrayal of modern day relationships The last 10 minutes of the movie will leave you mind-blown.

Production notes: This ebook of A Journal of the Plague Year was published by Global Grey in 2019. This book has 223 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1722. The novel probably was based on the journals of Defoe's uncle, Henry Foe. Defoe was only five years old in 1665, and the book itself was published under the initials H. Although it purports to have been written only a few years after the event, it actually was written in the years just prior to the book's first publication in March 1722. The book is told roughly chronologically, though without sections or chapter headings. Coming of age in samoa book review5/13/2023 Words like “obsessed” and “adore” hovered over the room, heavy with italics. This was an event, with a photographer, two hashtags - #itsmemargaret and #margaretmoment - and humans of every age, gender, race and manner of ironic eyewear one-upping each other’s devotion to the story we were there to celebrate. Unfortunately, I’d stopped reading the invitation after “Please join us for an afternoon with Judy Blume” what more did I need to know? Alas, this gathering wasn’t going to be the intimate affair I’d imagined, the one where Blume and I sat in an empty theater and bonded over a box of Milk Duds. Mine said, “Are You There God? It’s Me, Elisabeth.” One table was piled high with copies of Blume’s book, another with personalized diaries. The hip SoHo hangout was abuzz with laughing, chatting, selfie-snapping, champagne-sipping fans of the novel that launched a thousand breast enhancement exercises and frank conversations about puberty. When I arrived at the Crosby Street Hotel for a screening of “ Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret,” a man in the lobby located my name on a list, then directed me to a line for the coat check. If you want to understand the military history of the eastern front and/or the experience of the soldiers on the ground, then I would not recommend this book. For me, these sections were interesting, but were excessively dragged out and not supplemented by a military narrative. If you are interested in this aspect of the eastern front, then this is the book for you. Stone goes into great detail about the industrial machinations of the Russian state, and the mismanagement in that area that contributed to its failure in the war. The book focuses largely on Russia's management of its war economy. These long recitations of numbers, which lacked the visual cohesion that makes such tables useful, were boring, pointless and made the book more difficult to follow. One annoying aspect of the audio of this book was that the narrator read, out loud, the various charts and tables, most of which were focused on Russian industrial output. I was also disappointed that it failed to discuss in any detail the experiences of the soldiers on the ground, this book did not give me an understanding of what it was like to be a soldier on the eastern front. The book is also very abrupt, it begins and ends without any sort of summing up or reflections. I came away with no better understanding of the military events of the eastern front than I went in with, which was sorely disappointing. It provides no real coherent narrative of the events of the Eastern front. I was anticipating a straightforward narrative of the Eastern Front with a focus on military history. Shoeless Joe by W.P. Chuck wendig wanderers5/13/2023 (I’m sure there’s some question as to what category it belongs in - but I’d say it’s probably too long to be a proper thriller, and though I wrote it as a horror novel, its watermarks are ostensibly sci-fi.) But if you think it should, I’d love for you to write it in. (Also okay if you don’t, as there are many wonderful books on the list to choose from.) Why is Wanderers not there? I confess, I don’t know - in what is obviously my hubris, I kinda figured it would be? It did well in both sales and critical reception, and I humblebrag again that it made Publisher’s Weekly best SFFH of the year - but what do I know? Maybe it shouldn’t be. You just click that link and go down to the bottom and, zip zop zoom, write it in. I also note, with a sad-face emoji, that Wanderers is not on that list, but I’ll also remind you that it could be, as a write-in in the science-fiction category. Why, hello there - ’tis the time for the Annual Goodreads Choice Awards, and I feel like I should make special note that there are many excellent books on it. I want my hat back online5/13/2023 "The simple drawings, gently animated, keep step with the toe-tapping music. “The animation in ‘I Want My Hat Back’ really captures the spirit of the book.” - Cynthia K. The tone, narration, music, and light-handed animation all come together to create a well-done adaptation of the original tale.” - Anne Bozievich, School Library Journal “Daniel Pinkwater expertly expresses the bear’s emotions, and the production’s spot-on pacing and twangy background music turn this seemingly simple story into a memorable one about honesty. Highly recommended!” - Midwest Book Review “Simple animation and charming music bring this delightful story to life. Memorizing You by Dan Skinner5/13/2023 When conceptualized as operant behavior, ethical and unethical decisions are seen as being evoked and maintained by environmental variables. Although traditionally based on theories of social psychology, the principles underlying behavioral ethics are consistent with behavior analysis. The constructs of behavioral ethics, which are most often discussed in business settings, attempt to explain why ethical professionals sometimes engage in unethical behavior. Interestingly, it is found that breaches are often perpetrated by professionals who are aware of their codes of ethics and believe that they engage in ethical practice. Unfortunately, ethical breaches still occur. Disciplines establish and enforce professional codes of ethics in order to guide ethical and safe practice. |
